Fast Positioning with a Built-In Compass – Walksnail WS-M181 GPS Module
Walksnail WS-M181 GPS Module combines a multi-constellation GNSS receiver with an IST8310 magnetometer, providing the flight controller with position and heading data. Its built-in backup battery enables a faster hot start after the module has previously acquired satellite data. It supports GPS, GLONASS, BDS, Galileo, SBAS, and QZSS while measuring only 18mm x 18mm x 4.6 mm.
Accurate aircraft orientation data
The IST8310 magnetometer works as an electronic compass, supplying the flight controller with directional heading information. It complements GNSS position data and supports navigation functions that require both location and aircraft orientation.
Support for six positioning systems
WS-M181 works with GPS, GLONASS, BDS, Galileo, SBAS, and QZSS. Access to several satellite constellations increases satellite availability and provides greater configuration flexibility than a single-system receiver.
A coating designed to resist scratching and oxidation
The ceramic antenna uses a protective surface treatment that helps prevent scratching and oxidation. Protecting the antenna surface supports consistent reception performance throughout regular module use.
Faster position reacquisition
The integrated battery preserves data required for a GNSS hot start. After the module has previously established a position, this allows it to resume satellite positioning more quickly when powered again.
