The SKYZONE M5 FPV Monitor puts your flight on a bright five-inch screen wherever you fly. The built-in SteadyView receiver keeps the picture steady, so a spotter or friends standing next to you can follow every move without putting on goggles. Power it from whatever you have in your bag, record your best runs and watch them again right after landing.

SKYZONE M5 FPV Monitor — 5 Inches of Video Wherever You Fly

The SKYZONE M5 FPV Monitor is a 5-inch 800x480 LCD screen with a built-in SteadyView 5.8GHz receiver covering 48 channels (bands A, B, E, F, R and L). The receiver works in Diversity or MIX mode, where it fuses the signals from both antennas into one picture to reduce tearing and rolling. The built-in DVR records MJPEG video at 60fps to a microSD card of up to 128GB, and a video input lets you show a picture from another source. You can power it from one 18650 cell (about 1.5 hours on 3000mAh, according to SKYZONE), from a 2-6S LiPo through the XT60 cable or over USB-C. Automatic search finds your transmitter's channel, and you control the menu with a shuttle wheel. The kit includes two antennas, a mushroom and a flat panel one; the 18650 cell is not included.

SKYZONE M5 FPV Monitor Key Features

Receiver Built In

A 5.8GHz 48-channel SteadyView receiver with Diversity and MIX modes. Screw on the antennas and you get video from your drone without an extra module.

Large, Bright Screen

A 5-inch 800x480 LCD with 900 Lum brightness, according to SKYZONE. A big screen is easy to follow and more than one person can watch it at once.

Flight Recording

The built-in DVR records MJPEG at 60fps to a microSD card of up to 128GB. You can watch your flight again on the monitor right after landing.

Flexible Power

Runs on one 18650 cell, a 2-6S LiPo through the XT60 cable or USB-C. In the field you use whatever power source you have at hand.

One-Click Search

Automatic channel search finds your transmitter's frequency. You don't have to look up the channel before you fly.

Easy Control

A shuttle wheel and the classic SKYZONE menu in English or Chinese. You scroll and confirm settings with the wheel.

Two Signals, One Steady Picture

The built-in SteadyView receiver works in two modes. In Diversity mode it compares the signal strength (RSSI) from both antennas and outputs the stronger one, but when the signal changes rapidly the picture can tear and roll. In MIX mode it processes both signals and fuses them into one, which gives a more stable and clearer picture.

Three Ways to Power It

The M5 runs on one 18650 Li-ion cell (about 1.5 hours on a 3000mAh cell, according to SKYZONE), on a 2-6S LiPo (6.5-25.2V) through the XT60 cable from the kit, or from a USB-C power source.

The 18650 cell is not included. A compatible cell: 18650 3500mAh Li-Ion Battery.

Recording and Video Input

Put a microSD card of up to 128GB into the slot and the M5 records your flight in MJPEG at 60fps. You can play the recordings back directly on the monitor, and the video input lets you show a picture from another source using the 3.5mm video cable from the kit.

SKYZONE M5 FPV Monitor Suitable Applications

SKYZONE built the M5 to be easy to power in the field. It works well for:

  • Field video preview from FPV drones, RC planes and multicopters with an analog 5.8GHz transmitter
  • A ground monitor for an observer who sees the same video as the pilot in the goggles
  • Recording flights to a microSD card and reviewing them after landing
  • A tripod setup, as shown in the manufacturer's photo
