HDZero AIO5
HDZero AIO5 — Digital Video for 65mm Whoops
The HDZero AIO5 is, according to the manufacturer, the world's first digital video AIO, and lets you build a bind-and-fly 65mm whoop weighing under 19.5g. One board combines an STM32F411 flight controller with a BMI270 gyro, an HDZero 5.8GHz digital video transmitter (25mW/200mW), an SPI ExpressLRS 2.4GHz receiver (ELRS 3.0), a 5A BLHeli_S 4-in-1 ESC with DShot600 and a 5V/1A BEC, plus on-board voltage and current meters. It runs on a 1S pack from 2.5V to 4.35V, and the 2.5V minimum voltage means the video keeps transmitting until the motors stop. The camera connects with a single wire (HD composite instead of a MIPI cable), so the board works with the HDZero Lux and Eco cameras. It measures 28.5x28.5mm with 25.5x25.5mm mounting holes, fits popular whoop frames and weighs 5.7g, or 6.3g with motor plugs. The AIO5 was developed by Happymodel together with HDZero on a single thick PCB instead of a two-board stack, for better durability and a simpler build.
Key Features of the HDZero AIO5
HDZero Digital Video
A built-in HDZero 5.8GHz transmitter with 25mW and 200mW output, channels R1-R8, F2/F4 and L1-L8, and a UFL antenna connector.
ExpressLRS 2.4GHz On Board
An SPI ExpressLRS 3.0 receiver with packet rates from 25Hz to 500Hz and a pre-soldered wire antenna, no separate receiver needed.
F411 Flight Controller
STM32F411 (100MHz, 512K Flash) with a BMI270 gyro, running Betaflight on the CRAZYBEEF4SX1280 target.
5A 4-in-1 ESC
BLHeli_S with 5A continuous and 6A peak (3 seconds) per motor, DShot600 ready.
Video Down to 2.5V
The minimum voltage is 2.5V, so the video never stops transmitting before the motors stop.
One Thick PCB
A single thick board instead of a stack of two improves durability and keeps the build simple.
One-Wire Camera Input
HD composite video over a single wire instead of a MIPI cable, compatible with the HDZero Lux and Eco cameras.
5.7g Board
5.7g without motor plugs and 6.3g with them, for bind-and-fly 65mm whoops under 19.5g.
Applications of the HDZero AIO5
The manufacturer designed the AIO5 for the smallest digital builds:
- Bind-and-fly 65mm whoops under 19.5g
- Tiny whoop racing with HDZero digital video
- Tiny whoop freestyle
Frequently Asked Questions About the HDZero AIO5
The AIO5 takes the camera signal over a single wire (HD composite) instead of a MIPI cable, so it works with the HDZero Lux and Eco cameras. HDZero cameras that connect over a MIPI cable are not compatible with this board.
No. The AIO5 is designed for a 1S pack only, from 2.5V to 4.35V, and the manufacturer marks the battery pads NO 2S.
CRAZYBEEF4SX1280. After flashing Betaflight, load the AIO5 CLI file from the HDZero download page (hd-zero.com/document) in the Betaflight CLI tab.
Either connect the AIO5 to your PC over USB, open Betaflight and click Bind in the Receiver tab, or power the board on, wait until the ELRS LED turns off and cut the power, twice in a row. On the third power-up the LED double-flashes to show bind mode. Then start binding from the ELRS menu on your radio. A solid LED means the bind was successful. Use the ELRS preset that matches your link rate.
With the HDZero VTX Programmer (sold separately). Plug it into the board's VTX FW connector, connect it to a Windows PC and run the HDZero Programmer app, which downloads and flashes the firmware for you.
The board measures 28.5x28.5mm with a 25.5x25.5mm mounting pattern and, according to the manufacturer, is fully compatible with popular whoop frames. It is designed for 65mm whoops.

Mounting the Antennas on the HDZero AIO5
ELRS Antenna
The ELRS receiver uses a pre-soldered quarter-wave wire antenna that sits close to the board for a low profile and easy packaging. Before flying, lift it so it keeps at least 3mm of clearance from the board.

VTX Antenna
Mount the VTX antenna pointing outward from the board, not inward across it. The integrated HDZero transmitter needs this layout, because an antenna routed inward sends the video RF signal back to the onboard power amplifier, which causes noise in the video.
